Introduction to Vue Entertainment

Vue Entertainment formed in May 2003 following the acquisition of Warner Village Cinemas by SBC International Cinemas. Since then the portfolio has expanded to encompass 10 additional state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas (including two purchased from Cinemark International and 7 from Ster Century) and 13 new screens at 4 existing sites. Investment was also made to complete a refurbishment of all Vue cinema foyers in the country.

The new Vue 54 UK cinema circuit has 384 screens and over 25 million attendances a year. Vue Entertainment is the largest operator of modern multiplex cinemas in the country. It is also the market leader in the critical London market and has the second largest market share in terms of box office in the UK.

With one of the youngest plants in the business, Vue has the most modern and highest quality infrastructure of cinemas in the market. 90% of Vue cinemas have modern stadium seating and are fully equipped with the latest generation projection and audiovisual technologies. The chain is anchored by its flagship property, Vue West End (previously Warner), which has hosted royal premieres for over 60 years.

Vue remain committed to building and developing the highest quality modern multiplex cinemas in Europe and will be opening almost 20 new sites in the next 2-3 years. The ongoing site improvement programme continues with multimillion pound refurbishments recently completed at Vue Watford and Harrow. Vue Sheffield and York are scheduled for later this year.
